AI Events in Richmond, Virginia

AI Ready RVA runs events across Greater Richmond most weeks of the year. They fall into a few categories, and all of them are open to the public.

Cohort sessions are the backbone. Each industry cohort meets on its own schedule, led by practitioners working in that field. Healthcare cohort sessions look different from marketing cohort sessions, because the problems are different. Cohort sessions are free for members.

Workshops are hands-on and skill-focused. Prompt writing, AI tools for specific job functions, building simple automations, evaluating vendors. You leave having done something rather than having watched a slide deck.

Community events are the social layer. Happy hours, mixers, and open office hours where you can bring a specific problem and get help with it from someone who has already solved it.

Conferences and large-format events include the Power of Possibility, our annual conference and expo, and hackathons that bring teams together to build for real community needs. The next Power of Possibility takes place April 14, 2027 at the Dewey Gottwald Center at the Science Museum of Virginia.

Education events serve teachers, administrators, and students directly, including teacher summits, student AI bootcamps, and symposia for K-12 and higher education.

Most events are free for AI Ready RVA members and modestly priced for non-members. Registration is required for nearly all of them because venue capacity is real.

If you have never been to one, the community mixers and open workshops are the easiest starting point. You do not need a technical background and you do not need to know anyone. Come alone. Most people do the first time.
